About the Instructor

Gauravpreet Singh Bajwa has completed Yoga Instructor Course (YIC) approved by AYUSH department of Government of India from SVYASA University, Bangalore. Gaurav is also pursuing his B.Sc in Yoga Therapy from SVYASA University.


Gaurav is Lead Yoga trainer at Vimarsha Yoga. Gaurav has been teaching Yoga for over 6 years. He has delivered many RYT200 Yoga teacher training programs at Vimarsha Yoga. Gaurav leads Yoga workshops and retreats at various places in India such as Bangalore, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Tadakeshwar, Uttarakhand. He delivers transformative sessions as part of residential programs at Swami Rama Sadhana Dhama on the outskirts of Bangalore.

Gaurav, son of Late Maj. B S Bajwa, a Kargil martyr, grew up seeing the bravery, dedication and commitment in the community he was part of. He acquired his early education in Dalhousie Public School, Dalhousie, HP, India.

Gaurav is an active theatre artist and ardent lover of Yoga. After completing his Diploma in Theatre skills from Barry John Acting Studio, New Delhi, he pursued that field for few years. He soon realized that his heart is elsewhere and started following that inner call. His exploration took him on a sojourn of 2 years of intense pursuit of various Yoga traditions in India, especially in Rishikesh.

He explored various Yoga schools and teachers in Rishikesh. He completed his 200-hour Yoga Teachers Training from Rishikul Yogashala, Rishikesh. This course is recognized by Yoga Alliance (International Yoga Accreditation Organization, USA) making him a Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 200. He also studied Iyengar Yoga under Guru Rudra Dev, a direct disciple of BKS.Iyengar.


During his stay in Rishikesh, he kept getting exposed to teachings of Swami Rama through various sources. Unknowingly or as destiny would have it, he developed an admiration for Swami Rama and his teachings in Yoga and Meditation.

In due course, he met Smt.Jyothi Sagar Narayan Rao a disciple of Swami Rama at his ashram in Tadakeshwar. She initiated him into the Himalayan Tradition of Yoga and Meditation. Gaurav has been studying under her the Himalayan Yoga and Meditation practices as well as Srividya practices.
